NTC temperature sensors often widely used in many area. There are two details to be ignored the working current and insertion depth with NTC temperature sensors.
The temperature sensor normal working element is its working current. Due to the temperature sensor has a resistance value, when the current flowing through the temperature sensor element.There will be power loss, it will heat.In order to reduce the temperature sensor caused temperature measurement error by itself .So to meet the sensor normal working conditions to reduce the heat of its own as far as possible. This is the reason why the NTC temperature sensor should be used under constant small current. The reason is to reduce the temperature sensor components of the self heating caused by measurement error. The current is constant, the output will have a linear relationship between temperature and electric potential.
NTC temperature sensor insertion depth is also easy to overlook a problem. Some require a short depth of insertion, but the diameter is relatively large which is not reasonable.Especially in high temperature is not desirable, in general, the insertion depth of the temperature sensor can be determined according to the actual needs.But the minimum insertion depth should not be less than 8-10 times of the temperature sensor to protect the casing diameter to ensure the stability of the temperature sensor.
